How to remove your makeup

This blog is going to change the way you remove your makeup! We have five of the best tips that are going to change your makeup removal routine for the better.

  1. Secure your hair back

You don’t want (or need) your hair to be flipping around in your face while you’re trying to wash it plus your hairline is REALLY dirty! You blend your makeup into your hairline and if you don’t take 2 seconds to pull your hair back you’re going to miss removing all the makeup in your hairline.

  2. Ditch the makeup wipes

Makeup remover cloths are just simply not as effective. They are made for convenience but they are not going to get your face as clean as using a cleanser and water. IF you are going to use a makeup remover cloth that’s fine but PLEASE follow that with a second cleanse with an actual cleanser and water. I might even go so far as to say, if. you are not a fan of water dripping down your arm when you are cleaning your face look into starting your makeup removal with a makeup removal cloth just to avoid the extra water splashing.

  3. makeup remover for your eye makeup

We are big fans of lashes at Remedy so there is always a little push to encourage you to take care of your lashes even if you are not an extension wearer. Because of our passion for lashes, we encourage EVERYONE to use a makeup remover to remove their eye makeup as opposed to aggressive tugging and scrubbing with a makeup cloth around their eyes. This friction can be very damaging to the lash follicle.

  4. remove with quilted cotton opposed to cotton balls

Should you be the type of person who likes to use a makeup remover all over your face we suggest using a quilted cotton pad opposed to cotton balls because the texture is more gentle on your skin and will cause less friction.

  5. take your time around your eyes

SO MANY PEOPLE rush to get their evening skincare routine done that they don’t fully remove their makeup, especially around their eyes. The skin around your eyes is delicate and it’s going to show its age quickly and easily if you neglect it so take your time when you’re removing your eye makeup. Working slower is going to be better in the long run as opposed to working more aggressively. Let your remover sit for a second, maybe brush your teeth while the makeup remover is sitting, or find a good audiobook to listen to while you’re doing your evening skincare. Do what you can to make it an enjoyable experience so you don’t mind working a little slower to ensure your makeup is fully removed (from your hairline, around your eyes, and under your chin)
